maria: welcome back. spain continues to mourn this morning after a pair or terrorists attacks this past week with a van and a car left 14 people dead in barcelona and a resort town farther south. today the countries king and queen attending a special mass honoring the victims. police say that investigators are focused on a missing imam and the 22 year old suspected of driving that van in barcelona. meanwhile the finland, in finland rather another suspected in a knife attack that killed two people. joining me now new york congressman peter king a member of the house intelligence and homeland security committees good to see you. thanks so much for joining us. thank you, maria very much. maria: i ve been asking all week, from what we have learned so far, it indicates that there was a cell near barcelona and that cell was responsible for both attacks and the seaside area as well as within
times square, what we can say tonight is that there was a growing body of evidence either from social media or the intelligence stream that to these groups were getting very focused on the port city of barcelona and to what consider y symbolic high profile target in the center of that city. melissa: catherine, it s melissa melissa francis. we have three locations, three events, i understand that there were two people in the custody, what do we know about the perpetrators? the original van driver, what do we have? the picture today, the latest information coming from spanish police is that at least two people are in custody, but not describing them as the driver of the van in barcelona. which leaves open the possibility that this individual is on the run and under
we now know there s a police operation 12010 kilometers south of barcelona. we don t know yet whether that is linked to what happened here. just over nine hours ago two streets away from me this horrendous attack when that truck plowed through those crowds of people. we know two people have been arrested. we believe that is to do with the events of the night here. we know that one man was arrested afterward. the other, we re not clear whether he was arrested before, but he s linked to a house that was blown apart yesterday evening. we believe one spanish national was killed in that explosion and it might have been linked with tonight s terror attack. you can see an extremely fluid situation with that incident still ongoing 120 kilometers away from here, police have warned locals to stay away, but clearly as that manhunt continues, so many questions about precisely how he was connected to those individuals
