The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam caused a massive run on Pokémon cards drawn in the style of Van Gogh last year. This caused a lot of hype on social media, which resulted in high visitor numbers for the museum, but also caused a lot of chaos. The same thing happened with the last promotion, where Pikachu paintings in the Vang Gogh style were sold by the museum. However, research by Het Parool has revealed that these paintings were unintentionally sold for hundreds of euros by the museum's own employees.
The Van Gogh Museum suspended four employees in mid-December for inappropriate behavior during the Pokémon exhibition at the Amsterdam museum, several other employees told Parool.
