Skeletal remains found by timber crew near Molalla

Officials are seeking tips after a timber crew working in a forested area in rural Clackamas County found skeletal human remains earlier this month. A Weyerhauser crew working southeast of Molalla found the remains, which included a partial human skull, on Jan. 8, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff s Office. Officials said pieces of clothing found in the area indicate the remains had been there for some time, including before the wildfires in the area last September. The case is being investigated as a homicide. The location of the remains, down a steep ravine off of a private logging road, required the assistance of a search and rescue team.
