Update (5:45 p.m.): Power has been restored to customers affected by the initial outage, according to Consumers outage map. The utility was reporting a separate outage affecting about 20 customers northeast of Haslett, with a restoration estimate of 8:30 p.m.

OKEMOS – About 1,250 Consumers Energy customers in Meridian and Alaiedon townships were without electrical service on Thursday afternoon.
The outage was caused by a tree that fell across power lines, Consumers Energy spokesman Terry DeDoes said.
The utility estimated power would be restored by about 6 p.m.
The affected area stretched along the eastern edge of the utility s service area from north of Grand River Avenue nearly to Holt Road, according to its outage map.
