The Valley Children’s Advocacy Center will host the first ever Save Jane Event to raise awareness for Child abuse in the area.
The event in partnership with Staunton, Augusta county, and Waynesboro the event will take place on April 24
th at the Gypsy Hill Park Bandstand.
For six consecutive hours, volunteers from around Staunton, Augusta County, and Waynesboro will read the names and ages of over 3,000 children who were reported as abused in the area in 2020.
Because these children are minors and their identities must be protected, “Jane Doe” and “John Doe” will be used in place of their names.

STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) - On Wednesday, the Community Foundation of Central Blue Ridge distributed $400,000 worth of grants to 42 non-profit organizations in the city of Staunton and Augusta County. The funding is supported by CARES Act funding to directly support organizations that have seen an increase in need as the pandemic continues.
