Share The Hillsboro City Council will meet in a regular session Tuesday, May 18, at 6 p.m. The administration of the Oath of Office to unopposed candidates in the canceled May election is on the agenda. The council will also hold second readings and public hearings on an amendment to the zoning ordinance that would allow an indoor amusement center to operate downtown and on an ordinance abandoning a 20-foot alley adjacent to 605 Park Street. A public hearing and first reading of an ordinance abandoning a 15-foot alley adjacent to Golden Chick at 200 Corsicana Highway is also on the agenda. The council will consider resolutions regarding street closures for the Bond s Alley Art Festival on June 5 and 6 and the First Annual Juneteenth Celebration on June 19.
