Plans lodged to convert Maidenhead offices into new flats

Ten new flats could be built in Maidenhead in former office space. Developers have submitted proposals to build the new flats in the space vacated by the former offices on Burlington House in York Road, Maidenhead. The offices are over 30 years old and were first opened in 1989. Thames Valley Air Ambulance donates more than 80 litres of  The site is approximately 500m away from Maidenhead train station and is predominantly surrounded by residential and office buildings. Developers have stated in the planning documents that the proposals will result in a reduction of vehicular movement in the area. They have also ensured that due to their previous use as offices, there are sufficient parking spaces for the number of flats proposed at the site.

Lilly aims to climb Ben Nevis for Air Ambulance

Seven-year-old Lilly has set herself the huge challenge of climbing Ben Nevis to raise funds for Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Lilly from Chinnor has chosen to climb the Scottish mountain that is 1,345m above sea level after the charity’s crews helped deliver her sister, Bella, who was born unexpectedly at home five years ago. Now her sister has recovered she wants to do her bit to thank the charity and raise some money. Lily’s Mum, Hayley, said: Thames Valley Air Ambulance was there for us during an incredibly scary time. As a family, we’ll never forget the help they gave to us and I’m so proud of Lily for wanting to give something back.
