Two De Soto woman were injured, one of them seriously, Tuesday morning (Dec. 29) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 110 at Fountain City Road east of De Soto, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At about 11:10 a.m., Juanita L. Carrithers, 76, of De Soto was driving a westbound 2014 Chevrolet Impala on the highway, stopped to turn onto Fountain City Road, failed to yield and turned into the path of an eastbound 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the front of the Impala struck the front of the Jeep, the report said.
Sara M. Kimbrough, 25, of De Soto was driving the Jeep.
Carrithers was seriously injured, and Kimbrough had minor injuries, and both were transported by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.

Angelina J. Portell, 19, of Potosi was injured Friday night (Dec. 18) in a one-car accident on Hwy. 21 south of Perkins Road southwest of De Soto, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:20 p.m., Portell was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix north on Hwy. 21 and ran off the right side of the road, where the car struck a ditch and overturned, the report said.
She was moderately injured and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
She was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
