Such is the journey of Maulik Thummar, a B.Tech mechanical engineering student who topped the overall exam and received five gold medals from the Education Minister in the 18th virtual convocation held by Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology on December 18.
Maulik, a son of class 8 pass-out diamond factory worker whose monthly income ranges between Rs 10k to 15k got the top rank in several graduate programs offered by the Institute. He secured 13000 rank in JEE Main Exam 2016. He then took admission in SVNIT. Now, he would be starting his first job on an annual package of Rs 6.5 lakh.
