The biggest NHS vaccination programme is well underway across Essex and is being ramped up following the approval and roll out of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine. Hospitals and GP centre’s across the county are working to distribute vaccines as quickly as possible to those considered high risk, people aged 80 and over, as well as care home residents and staff. Both Basildon and Southend hospital now offer the vaccine used to fight the virus. Family doctors and other primary care staff are also vaccinating the most vulnerable in GP-led services across south Essex.
