ORONO “Our Environment: Nurses Taking Action on Sustainable Health Solutions” will be the focus at the University of Maine on Friday, April 9, of the annual evidence-based practice conference of the Omicron Xi at-Large Chapter of the global nursing honor society Sigma Theta Tau International.
The virtual event, free and open to the public, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring keynote speakers Nirav Shah, Paul Mayewski and Katie Huffling in the morning, a noon poster session and presentations focused on waste management in health care, the impact of climate change on adaptation among the Wabanaki, and addressing health disparities and food insecurity among vulnerable populations in the afternoon.
