Sadie, age 12 Since last spring, Island artist Valentine Estabrook has taught virtual children’s art classes in collaboration with the West Tisbury library from her studio in West Tisbury. Classes for children ages 5 to 10 began with the basics: Composition, drawing, and lights and darks. Students learned that shadow and light tell the time of day and the direction of the sunlight. Each class was different in scope, and students learned to work with pastels, acrylic paints, charcoal sticks, and pencils. Each medium offered her students new opportunities in expression. The Martha s Vineyard Times Coming up at the West Tisbury library A warming shelter is open inside West Tisbury library. -Susan Stafford On Thursday, Jan. 14, at 5:30 pm, join Hallie Brevetti for Broadway Dance Through the Ages, an online dance class through the West Tisbury library. This is a beginner dance class that includes a short warm-up, a brief history of the musical of the day, and a fun piece of choreography in the style of the show. Available to all body abilities. Email wt mail@clamsnet.org to sign up. Jason Mazar-Kelly continues leading an all-levels virtual Kripalu Flow Yoga Class via Zoom on Friday, Jan. 15, at 8 am. Email the library to sign up.
