Will the OGAE poll 2021 predict the winner of Eurovision 2021?
Not necessarily. The organisation does often place future Eurovision winners on their podium in 2018, they correctly predicted victory for Israel’s Netta. But then in 2019, the OGAE poll predicted a victory for Italy’s Mahmood, who eventually placed second at Eurovision. And in previous years, they’ve often chosen favourites who stayed in the semi-finals in 2013, OGAE poll runner-up Valentina Monetta failed to secure a spot in the final for San Marino. So take the results with a hefty pinch of salt!
Over the next few weeks, the remaining OGAE groups will announce their points in this years poll to determine their Eurovision winner. But this year, the announcement schedule looks a little different. Half the groups will deliver their points between now and Sunday 2 May. Then, the remaining groups will announce their points at the same time on Friday 7 May, in a grand final video spectacle.
