Santa Clarita Public Library Announces Book Selection For 2021 'One Story One City' Program

To celebrate “Eat Joy,” City staff have put together a diverse lineup of activities and virtual events set to occur throughout the month of March. Some of the scheduled programs include a Zoom Mac & Cheese Cook-Along, a “Comfort Foods” Art Exhibit, Food Trivia Game Night and a Zoom conversation with “Eat Joy” editor Natalie Eve Garrett. Grab and Go Craft Kits will also be available for pickup at each library branch on select dates. Due to the content covered, this book is recommended for adults and is not suitable for young readers under the age of 16.   The ‘One Story One City’ program is free and is held in partnership with Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library. To learn more about this event or view the full lineup of future events, visit their website here or contact Library Administrator Gina Roberson at groberson@santa-clarita.com.

Santa Clarita Residents Encouraged To Take Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Survey

Santa Clarita Residents Encouraged To Take Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Survey Officials with the City of Santa Clarita are encouraging residents to participate in the City’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) survey.  The survey is to help plan ahead and reduce the potential impacts of natural and man-made disasters and is available until Jan. 25, according to a statement by Santa Clarita officials.  Input from residents is set to help the City develop the 2021 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, a wide-ranging plan that identifies hazards affecting Santa Clarita and ways that the City can work independently and with other agencies to reduce damage to life and property, according to officials.
