The blasts occurred 30 minutes apart in Isabela City, the capital of Basilan. Domingo Gobway, Joint Task Force (JTF)-Basilan commander, said no one was injured or killed in the twin explosions that happened one after the other. However, Ronda del Basilan posted on his Facebook page quoting Lt. Col. Julpikar Sitin, Isabela City police chief, said the second explosion injured two persons.
