Greater Noida: Seven people, among them the administrator of a hospital authorised to carry out Phase III trials of Zydus Cadila’s Covid-19 vaccine ZyCoV-D, have been booked after an unregistered laboratory the hospital had tied up with was found to be administering the shots to ‘volunteers’.
A day after the laboratory in Dadri – Gopal Pathological lab– was sealed, teams from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) and the drug department in Ghaziabad began an investigation into alleged violation of rules stipulated for vaccine trials. Officials said that the shots had been given to at least 19 people.
The team from the north zone office of CDSCO is verifying documents provided by Flores hospital in Ghaziabad related to the trials. Flores had acknowledged to TOI on Tuesday it should have checked the registration of the lab but had also questioned why an unregistered lab had been allowed to operate by the Noida administration in the first place.
