To contain the surge in COVID-19 cases, the Gujarat government today decided to increase the night curfew timings in four major cities of the state by two hours.
The curfew will now remain in force in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot from 10 pm to 6 am, an official statement said.

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government has extended the night curfew imposed in four metro cities of Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot till the end of this month.
The previous notification of night curfew in these four cities expires today and that is the reason why a fresh notification has been issued today.
As per Pankaj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of the State Home Department of Gujarat, the curfew will remain in place from midnight to 6 am from February 16 to 28.

Ahmedabad: Even as Gujarat is witnessing a decline in fresh cases of coronavirus, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Friday announced that night curfew in four major cities will remain in place for the next 15 days as a precautionary measure. The Gujarat CM further urged people to be patient and cooperate with the authorities for a few more days.
As per Rupani, coronavirus cases have come under control because of the imposition of night curfew in November 2020 in Surat, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Rajkot.

Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani said the night curfew after 10 pm will continue for 15 more days in all four cities. There will be no relaxation for now, as there is a drastic decrease in new cases because of curfew, he said.
