Viru Godadiya
VADODARA: Even in his death 32-year-old Viru Godadiya saved the lives of four persons and provided sight to one. His organs were successfully transplanted in five different persons on Saturday.
Viru had met with an accident near Dena Crossroads on Thursday. He was initially rushed to the SSG Hospital (SSGH) and then to the SiddhiICU and Multispecialty Hospital in the city. Late on Thursday night, the doctors at the hospital declared him brain dead.
“We explained to the family how there were no chances of his condition improving and asked them to consider organ donation to save lives. The family was reluctant initially and we asked them to think about it,” said Dr Jayesh Rajpura from the hospital.

VADODARA: Three members of a family died in a road accident near Jambua bridge on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred when the victims were riding on a motorbike that was rammed by a truck from behind. According to the police, the driver of the tanker fled from the spot and abandoned his vehicle at a nearby hotel.
Thirty-five-year-old Nazeer Bhalavat and his wife Haseena Bano, both residents of Mujhar village, were travelling on a bike with their child. Their bike got hit by a truck on the bridge following which they slipped and fell on the road. Nazeer and Haseena were run over by the truck while the child died after it hit the road. The cops have begun search for the truck driver.

VADODARA: A whopping 1,451 persons have sought tickets for the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) polls from the BJP. The party held the process of hearing out workers as well as ticket aspirants on Monday and Tuesday.
Observers appointed by the state BJP for Vadodara took sense of party workers for 10 wards on Monday and the remaining nine wards on Tuesday. As many as 789 persons had sought tickets on Monday while 662 came forward on Tuesday.
With polls to be held for 76 seats as per the panel system, each seat has around 19 ticket aspirants. A senior party member said that the number was large as most expected the party to win the polls and saw an opportunity if they were given a ticket. He added that the number was expected and reflection of enthusiasm in the cadres.

VADODARA: A garments trader lodged an extortion complaint against a man who filed a PIL in Gujarat high court for closing wool market at Kala Bhawana ground last year.
The complainant Parvindersinh Rathod told police that since the regular organizer of the market was not going to organize it in 2020 due to the pandemic, he decided to hold the market for three months. Rathod secured all permissions from different authorities and later met the accused Rajesh Shah asking him if he had any objections. Rathod met Shah at his office in Sayajigunj as a precautionary measure as in the past he had got several markets and circus on the same ground closed by filing petitions in Gujarat high court.
Man brought out unconscious from 150 ft deep well in Karjan
VADODARA: A 24-year-old man, who accidentally fell in over 150 feet deep well at Methi village in Karjan taluka on Sunday afternoon. Firemen took three hours to bring him out and was unconscious and was profusely bleeding due to head injury. He was declared dead at the hospital.
Fire officials said that Bhavesh Patanwadiya fell in the well at around 2.30 pm and not having any resources locally to bring him out, the villagers sought help from Vadodara Fire and Emergency Services as the well was too deep.
“We had to send our men several times inside until we could reach the bottom. It took us three hours to bring him out,” said station officer Nikunj Azad. The well was dry due to which Patanwadiya had suffered injury on his head. After he was brought out, cops took him to hospital for treatment.
