Nearly 25% of 12- to 15-year-olds in Dane County have already gotten their first dose of vaccine, just a week after Pfizer’s vaccine was approved for the age group. According to Public Health Madison & Dane County data, a total of 24.3% of 12- to 15-year-olds have gotten their first shot. PHMDC also said they are booked up for Pfizer appointments this week, but more doses will be available next week. Just one week into eligibility, 24.3% of Dane County 12-15 year olds have their first dose of vax. We’re all booked up for Pfizer appts this week (still have some J&J left for 18+!), & next wk is open.

Dane County health officials plan to share an updated public health order Tuesday in light of new CDC guidance that says fully vaccinated people can ditch their masks in many indoor spaces. Public Health Madison & Dane County teased the upcoming update Thursday afternoon on Twitter, saying they’re assessing the county’s current public health order following the CDC’s updated guidance. “People who are vax’d can be confident that rolling up their sleeve has not only helped protect them & their loved ones, but has also helped our community reopen safely,” the tweet reads. “We’re evaluating our existing orders & plan to have an update on Tuesday.”
