Maharashtra added 2,288 previously unreported deaths (and 483 fresh fatalities) to its overall toll on Sunday, its highest daily addition since the second wave reconciliation drive began on May 17. Till June 13, it has added 17,724 deaths. Covid-19 recoveries in Pune Metropolitan Region crossed a milestone on Sunday 2,236 patients were discharged, pushing the region’s total recoveries past the 10-lakh mark. A total of 1,228 people tested positive for coronavirus in PMR, taking the region’s progressive caseload to 10,32,091. Third phase, Day-1: 11,492 from 18-44 age group inoculated in 26 Maha districts

Mumbai: As the third phase of Covid-19 vaccination drive kicked off on Saturday across India, around 11,000 beneficiaries between the age group of 18 to 44 years from 26 districts took their first jab in Maharashtra. The inoculation for all those aged between 18 to 44 began on Saturday though many states have been facing shortage of vaccinations including Maharashtra.
As per the data, a total of 132 vaccination sessions were organized in 26 districts. A total of 11,492 beneficiaries were vaccinated till 6 pm, the health department said.
At present, the state has procured 3 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine for this age group from Serum Institute of India (SII). As reported by Free Press Journal, the state government on the occasion of Maharashtra Day launched the symbolic launch of vaccination of citizens in the 18-44 age group.

Mumbai: With cumulative jabs to 73.54 lakh people, Maharashtra has topped the vaccination tally in India. In the state, a record 4,62,735 people were also vaccinated on April 3. Dr Pradip Vyas, Principal Secretary Health of Maharashtra, said that on Saturday state administered the highest ever number of 4.62 lakh vaccines in a day from 4,102 centres which probably would be a national record till now.
Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope said, âSince the launch of vaccination on January 16, Maharashtra has been topping among other states. Maharashtra is way ahead of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh in daily vaccination. The state government proposes to double the number of people to be vaccinated. The government aims to vaccinate 6 to 7 lakh daily from the present level of 3 lakh people. State is confident to achieve this targe
