There are a lot of experiential must-dos in East London, from visiting the flower market at Columbia Road to strolling along the Regent’s Canal, admiring the street art as you go and maybe stopping off at a historic pub or two. Rebecca Fortnum appointed by Glasgow School of Art

Professor Rebecca Fortnum has been appointed to Glasgow School of Art s School of Fine Art The artist, curator and academic Rebecca Fortnum has said she is thrilled to have been appointed to head up Glasgow School of Art s prestigious School of Fine Art. Ms Fortnum is currently Professor of Fine Art and Research Lead in the School of Arts & Humanities at the Royal College of Art (RCA).  She said that as an artist she had long been aware that GSA had nurtured generations of talent of international renown. The school has produced 15 Turner Prize nominees of which 6 were winners including Douglas Gordon and Charlotte Podger as well as other internationally renowned names including photographer Harry Benson and painter Jenny Savill.  Ms Fortnum will take up the post on June 1, 2021

LONDON .- The V&A is launching Explore the Collections, a new digital platform that enables everyone from around the world to search, explore and discover over 1.2m objects from the museum’s collections. This new online experience forms a key part of the V&A’s goal to revolutionise access to national collections, which will culminate in our new collections and research centre at V&A East – an entirely new cultural experience and the first of its kind in the UK.
