EV Charging Station In India: Around 12,146 public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations are operational across the country. Maharashtra leads with 3079 stations, followed by Delhi with 1886 stations. Karnataka is third with 1041 stations. The Heavy Industries Ministry has sanctioned Rs 800 crore as capital subsidy to three public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) for setting up 7,432 EV charging stations.
Bharat Mobility Expo: Specialised exhibitions such as auto show (including electric and hybrid vehicles), ACMA Automechanika, large-scale tyre exhibition, urban mobility solutions (two wheelers/e-bikes, drones), EV Infra Pavilion (including charging stations and battery swapping) and other energy sources like hydrogen in the mobility landscape would be showcased.
The European Investment Bank has sealed a EUR40 million loan agreement with Austria’s Eldrive Holding, controlled by Bulgarian investors, for the deployment of 8,472 EV charging stations in Bulgaria, Lithuania and Romania in the next three years.
US President Joe Biden says the waiver will fast track the production of charging stations with federal grants, and allowances for foreign content will be phased out by July 1.
