Ghana exact revenge … beat Gambia for AFCON U-20 final
March 2, 2021
The Black Satellites produced an imposing performance to qualify for the AFCON Under-20 final by beating Gambia 1-0 at the Stade Olympique yesterday.
Gambia’s Young Scorpions had overturned a 1-0 deficit to upset the Satellites 2-1 in their last Group C clash and placed second ahead of Ghana – who qualified as the third best side.
It was the reason many dreaded yesterday’s encounter, but not the courageous Satellites who exacted a sweet revenge that may have crushed Gambia hearts.
The Ghanaians took charge of the early exchanges and dominated as they capitalised on a swift counter attack that resulted in a free-kick that Percious Boah’s dreaded left foot missed narrowly.
