I expected to be able to smell the Neutrog fertiliser factory way before I could see it, but it snuck up on me, half an hour or so from the leafy streets of Hanhdorf in the Adelaide Hills. Friends were amused that a chicken poo factory was top of my must-see list in South Australia at peak rose time, but what comes out of this former copper mining site at Kanmantoo is no ordinary chicken shit.
