Meet some of the notable UWâMadison graduates of spring 2021
The pandemic couldnât hold them back â theyâve won major national academic honors, appeared on network TV shows, helped classmates avoid COVID-19, improved the campus, and even won a Grammy.
Hereâs a look at just a few of the students who will be graduating from UWâMadison May 8. Consider them a small subset of the excellence of the Class of 2021.

As COVID-19 vaccines continue to roll out among members of the University of Wyoming community, employees and students are reminded to report their vaccinations to allow the university to track overall numbers.
And those who’ve not yet been vaccinated are strongly encouraged to do so, as multiple options are available to receive the vaccine in Albany County, across Wyoming and around the nation.
As of Monday, 1,653 of UW’s 2,941 benefited employees 56.2 percent had reported receiving at least one dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, with 50 reporting having received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. All of the vaccines have been shown to be safe and highly effective. There have been no reports of serious side-effects among those vaccinated at the Albany Count

Given the challenges women face in the workplace and their attempt to break away from societal stereotypes, Africa’s largest retail bank, Access Bank Plc., held a virtual fireside chat recently. The chat analyzed the issues women face and proffered solutions to help them own their voices, fight impostor syndrome and maintain assertiveness in a non-inclusive workplace.
The fireside chat was themed “Take the Centre Stage: Speak Up!” and featured keynote speakers Dr Dere Awosika – Chairman, Access Bank Plc.; Aishah Ahmad – Deputy Governor, CBN; Ayona Trimnell Group Head, W Initiative at Access Bank; as well as an interesting line-up of panelists including; Marketing and Innovation Director, Guinness Nigeria – Adenike Adebola, Director of Governance and Sustainability, Sahara Group Limited – Pearl Uzokwe, amongst other remarkable women.
