Diesel Bus Ban: According to officials, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) orders from December 2019 instructed all transport corporations to convert to BS6 engines and above, for environmental conservation. There were several extensions given and the deadline for implementation was March this year which was once again extended to November.
Uttarakhand Transport and Social Welfare Minister Chandan Ram Das passed away on Wednesday after a sudden cardiac arrest, said the state's officials. He died at Bageshewar District Hospital where he was admitted after he complained of chest pain, said Bageshewar's chief medical officer DP Joshi.
