A member of one of these associations expressed, “We’ve been closely observing the VK Street Sambhrama programmes organised in various parts of the city. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has started the process of acquiring about 143
properties required for widening of the 3.5-km
Uttarahalli Main Road that carves out from Mysuru Road towards Aditya Bakery. The busy stretch, named after cine star Late Dr Vishnuvardhana, has become a point of traffic congestion after residential layouts started booming in and around Turahalli forest.
The proposed four-lane road is, however, likely to eat into a portion of Mylasandra Lake. A 30-year-old woman ended her life at her house in
Uttarahalli in Subramanyapura, after allegedly being harassed by her husband for money.
The deceased has been identified as Brundadevi M, an employee with a pharmacy company. Her brother,
Rohith CM, a resident of
Mysore has filed a complaint with Subramanyapura police against her husband, Hemantha L, a regional manager with a pharmacy company on Saturday.
Rohith said that his sister’s first marriage did not last long and she had been divorced for six years ago.
