The accused had been granted bail by the High Court in July 2022. However, the Supreme Court later set aside the bail orders and observed that the seriousness of the offence had not been considered by the High Court.
The Court had recently warned of action against judicial officers found not allowing use of video conference facility despite availability of infrastructure.
The Court directed all district judges and judicial officers in Uttar Pradesh to file cases under the Arms Act against litigants and lawyers found carrying arms within court premises.
