The Indian Express reported on Wednesday. In an interview to the newspaper, Patel said that a bill is introduced only after the government is convinced about its need.
“Whenever a Bill comes, it does not come just like that,” she said. “There is a survey conducted that shows how many girls married, how many faced problems, how many girls came back, how many girls lodged complaints. Even parents come forward seeking arrests, alleging that the boy changed his name. When such incidents are increasingly reported during a survey, in such a situation, such a Bill is brought and is pursued.”

Budaun: The brutal gangrape and murder of a 50-year-old woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun district could have been avoided if the victim had not gone out in the evening, said a member of the National Commission for Women (NCW) on Thursday while expressing her dissatisfaction with the police action in the case.
“I tell women again and again that they should never go out at odd hours under anyone’s influence,” said NCW member Chandramukhi Devi after meeting the woman’s family members.

A 50-year-old woman was gang-raped and murdered allegedly by three men including an occultist and his two disciples on Sunday night in western Uttar Pradesh s Budaun district. Two men have been arrested and a case has been registered against them, police said.
Images from the woman s village home taken on Monday morning, show her body laid out on a cot, surrounded by family members and other villagers. A yellow sheet covering her lower body appears to be soaked in blood and one of her legs appears broken and bent at the foot.

A 50-year-old woman was brutally raped and murdered in Uttar Pradesh, yet again. The three accused men are a priest in the temple and his two disciples in western Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun district. They were arrested and a case has been registered against them.
The woman visits the temple nearby every Sunday evening and she did the same last Sunday too but did not return. Later in the night at 11:30 pm, the accused brought her in their own vehicle and reportedly said she fell in a dry well and got herself injured. She was dead when they left her at the door, according to the woman’s son.
