Reporter Bartow Police say 32yearold prison inmate david ross locked four other Prison Inmates into a room in the building and overpowered the guard jeffrey rexroad and escaped. That is scary. Reporter deputies quickly poured into the area. But then, ross had a 35 minute head start driving a stolen city of bartow work truck. Police knew ross was from Pinellas County and they tracked the stolen truck here to saint petersburg. But kidnapped guard somehow police cornered ross and arrested him after a brief foot chase. And now, we have just learned from the Bartow Police department, apparently, this inmate had a small Utility Knife and used that to overpower the guard. Then he used the guards own
