Utah football has chosen a classic uniform combination for Saturday's Las Vegas Bowl. Players will wear red helmets, white jerseys and red pants for the game against Northwestern, the team announced Friday on social media. The helmet has a white strip down the center, while the uniform and pants have a red, white and black stripe on the sleeves and side, respectively.
Saturday’s Las Vegas Bowl will be the first major college football game to involve use of both smart tablets and coach-to-player in-helmet communication, according to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo! Sports.
The Utah quarterback shakeup continues. Backup QB Mack Howard announced Monday that he will be entering the transfer portal. Earlier on Monday, quarterback Bryson Barnes shared that he, too, has entered the transfer portal, as the Deseret News previously reported.
Utah fans will be belting out “Bad Moon Rising” at Rice-Eccles Stadium next year. Ute quarterback Cam Rising is returning for the 2024 season, he announced on social media. Rising coming back for his sixth year at the program is a huge boon for the Utes as they enter their first season in the Big 12 Conference, which coincides with the College Football Playoff field expanding to 12 teams.
Four-star quarterback Wyatt Becker, who attends Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth, California, announced his commitment to the Utes on social media on Wednesday afternoon.
