TODD: Who was the first person in your memory to really describe what Mitt Romney is in terms of governance? Because I’m a big fan of the idea that there’s no such thing as Mitt Romney, that he doesn’t exist, that there is a father who’s a really good father, loves his kids very much named Mitt Romney. There is a businessman, Mitt Romney, who is shrewd and brilliant and strategic, and creates values or spots undervalued assets and sometimes breaks them up and sells them, which has a human cost to it, of course.

Utah County Republican announces 2022 Senate run
March 9, 2021 GMT
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) A Utah County Republican has announced he’s running for the U.S. Senate in 2022 for a seat currently held by GOP U.S. Sen. Mike Lee.
Brendan Wright, a Lehi resident and area planning manager for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, announced his run for federal office Saturday while criticizing the leadership in Washington, The Daily Herald reported.
“It really just increasingly built on me that I was hoping we were going to see the leadership we need, and I just didn’t feel like I was seeing that,” Wright said in an interview Monday. “We were hearing a lot of great things in the news and from leaders, calls for teamwork, civility, respect, working together, unity, and I just felt like I needed to step up and help share that message.”

Businesses Weigh Cost Of Loosening Pandemic Restrictions
Utah’s statewide mask mandate could go away next month, which for some people may signal the end of the pandemic. The absence of a statewide order could leave small business owners in a tough place, though. Some worry that lifting the mandate sends the wrong message, and that they will have to decide for themselves whether or not to enforce mask-wearing and risk alienating certain customers. Customers may be eager to get back to normal, but health experts stress social distancing and mask wearing are still needed to keep COVID-19 variants from creating new surges.
