We fully expected this to be a beach vacation, but enjoyed much more after we learned our way around this bucolic community. Make no mistake, unlike some of those other busy and well-known touristy islands that line the coast from North Carolina to Florida, St. Simons remains a community. That s in large part due to long-time historic and preservation-minded residents who have created innovative public and private partnerships to help retain the island s charm while managing its growth.

(Scott Anderson/Patch) EAST PALO ALTO, CA Amazon Web Services is leaving its 90,000 square foot workspace in East Palo Alto s University Circle this year, according to Silicon Valley Business Journal. In an earnings call last month, officials in charge of the building that AWS occupies in the University Circle complex said that the cloud-computing subsidiary of Amazon would be vacating their space by July. According to the report, the move was motivated by AWS wanting to consolidate its workforce as well as the increase in remote work due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
