Talbott, 27,
is a master s student at Kent State University and has been trying to join the military for more than four years.
Talbott talked to a recruiter shortly before former President Donald Trump’s July 2017 tweets saying he was banning transgender people from the military.
“It’s been a journey,” he said of his efforts to join the military, which included going through ROTC while at Kent State.
