WASHINGTON, Feb 24 The first American spaceship to the Moon since the Apollo era is probably lying sideways following its dramatic landing, the company that built it said.
The landing, one day after the spacecraft reached lunar orbit and a week after its launch from Florida, was confirmed by signals beamed back some 239,000 miles (384,000 km) to mission control.
The Houston-based company successfully lands spacecraft on the Moon after 50 years, uncertain about the full functionality of Odysseus lander despite faint signal
The Odysseus landing followed India’s successful lunar mission in August 2023, when the Chandrayaan-3 lander became the first Indian spacecraft to land safely on the moon.
