In a conversation with Ambassador Caroline Kennedy, we will explore how she employed cultural diplomacy while serving as U.S. Ambassador to Japan (2013-2017), our key ally in Asia. Ambassador (ret.) He and Carla Dirlikov Canales, 2021 Advanced Leadership Initiative Fellow, will co-moderate the discussion.Caroline Kennedy is an attorney and the author and editor of eleven books on law, civics, and poetry.  She worked for ten years with the NYC Department of Education before serving US Ambassador to Japan from 2013 to 2017. She is the Founder of the International Poetry Exchange Program which brings together students from Japan, Korea, the Philippines, and NYC and serves on the boards of the US-Japan Foundation, the Praemium Imperiale, the Carnegie Corporation, and the International Rescue Committee.
