A few years ago, on an island not so far away…
I spend a lot of my free time on a geeky hobby that gives back to the local community. I am a member of three different international Star Wars costuming groups that make movie-quality costumes to support charity events, such as Make-a-Wish, Relay for Life, Cause for Animals, etc. The helmets especially come in handy when supporting emotional events in terminally ill children’s wards at hospitals. When it comes down to it, it is all about helping make big and little kids smile.
All three groups are officially recognized by Lucasfilm Ltd., who let us use their intellectual property for non-profit activities. The largest is the 501st Legion, in which the members dress as Star Wars “bad guys,” like Stormtroopers and Darth Vader. They are known as “the bad guys doing good.” The next largest group is the Rebel Legion, which are the “good guys,” like Jedi, X-Wing Pilots, and Chewbacca. Lastly, the Mandalorian Mercenaries Cost
The Fulbright Program celebrates its 75th anniversary this year!
To commemorate this anniversary, we are launching a #Fulbright75 video series – “Drawing from the Fulbright Experience.” The series will feature illustrious Singaporean Fulbright alumni who will share how their experiences in the United States have shaped their lives and spurred professional and personal advancement.
In March in honor of Women’s History Month, we kickstart this series with Corinna Lim, the Executive Director of women’s rights and gender equality non-governmental organization (NGO) the Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE Singapore).

Chargé d’Affaires Mansour Launches U.S.-SG 55 Campaign Celebrating 55 Years of Diplomatic Relations between the U.S. and Singapore
On Monday, April 5, 2021, Chargé d’Affaires Rafik Mansour launched U.S. Embassy Singapore’s U.S.-SG 55 campaign celebrating 55 years of diplomatic relations between the United States and Singapore.
Starting this month, a combination of digital and traditional media elements branded with #USSG55 will showcase the United States and Singapore’s shared history, built on a strong foundation for a secure, prosperous, and innovative shared future. To kick off the campaign, a dedicated website will serve as a portal for the year’s events, programs, press releases, photographs, and more.

Good morning to everyone in the Indo-Pacific region and good evening to everyone joining us from the United States.
It’s an honor to be with you on the final day of the AmChams of the Asia Pacific Business Summit 2021.
Before we begin, I want to say thank you to AmCham Singapore and all the AmChams from across the region for your incredible work putting together this year’s summit.
I want to also express my gratitude to the thousands of U.S. companies present in the region. With over $250 billion in investments, the United States remains the largest foreign investor in Southeast Asia by a large margin.
