KNOX COUNTY, Tenn Roughly 67.1 percent of American adults have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control.
That s just shy of President Joe Biden s goal of 70 percent by the Fourth of July. Southern states, like Tennessee, are part of the reason the nation fell short. We have seen that there has been lower uptake in a number of southern states, said Dr. Rachel Levine, Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Heath and Human Services. We are having some challenges reaching young people.
