The XM813 cannon forms part of the Stryker Medium Caliber Weapon System 30mm Lethality Upgrade programme.
US Army Contracting Command has awarded a $105.69 million contract modification to Alliant Techsystems Operations (part of Northrop Grumman) to produce, deliver, and maintain new-production configuration 30x173 mm XM813 cannons.
Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of 24 September 2026, the DoD announced on 7 May.
Alliant Techsystems Operations was awarded the original $37.67 million contract in September 2020 to buy long-lead XM813 items for the Stryker Medium Caliber Weapon System 30mm Lethality Upgrade programme.

Northrop Grumman was recently awarded a contract from the U.S. Army for XM813 Bushmaster Chain Guns® as part of the Stryker Medium Caliber Weapon System 30mm Lethality Upgrade program.
The base contract and first delivery order calls for 95 chain guns with initial deliveries beginning in early 2022.
