The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry signed memorandums of
cooperation in the field of decarbonization with the governments of Uzbekistan
and Kazakhstan.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during a working trip to the Balkan region on Friday, November 3, took part in the laying of the foundation of a combined cycle power plant with a capacity of 1,574 megawatts, which will be built in the Turkmenbashi region, the launch of the Mary-Ahal power line and two power units in the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries.
A training seminar was held in the city of Mary, at which specialists from Turkmenistan
studied international experience in the development of regulatory legal acts and regulatory
and technical documents in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency, as well as on
the use of municipal solid waste as alternative energy sources. This was reported by the
United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Turkmenistan.
Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Aksoltan Atayeva met with
her colleague, Permanent Representative of Brazil to the UN Sergio Francia Danes.
