Following its global reveal in March, Kia America has officially debuted the North American specification EV6. The Korean company said that it expects the electric crossover to go on sale across the USA early next year, with reservations for the First Edition launch model to open on June 3.
The special trim package will be limited to just 1,500 examples and will feature the dual-motor AWD drivetrain and the larger 77.4 kWh battery pack, which returns an estimated 300 miles of range, according to Kia. EPA numbers have not been published yet.
First, The First Edition
The First Edition will be available with design features like black wheel arches and will be loaded with tech, including an augmented reality heads-up display, remote parking, a wide sunroof, 20-inch wheels, Meridian 14-speaker sound, and a two-year Sirius XM subscription.
Only 1,500 examples will be made.
Kia s first battery-electric vehicle, the EV6, had its world premiere at the end of March and showed off its striking styling along with key specs like a range of up to 316 miles (WLTP cycle), and up to 576 horsepower. The signs are already there that this will be a big seller for the Korean automaker.
Now, Kia has officially announced the EV6 s debut in North America with a headlining First Edition variant as well as an on-sale date for all 50 states. The Kia EV6 will compete with other new EVs like Hyundai s Ioniq 5. These two cars share a platform but look markedly different from one another.

Interestingly, although probably no one will be able to mark visible changes between the global and U.S. versions, the target specification in terms of range is a bit different. That’s probably due to the different standards for testing, as the company has announced 510 km (317 miles) of range according to WLTP, while for America, it targets a more conservative figure of 300 miles (483 km).
