Boston Equity Chief Karilyn Crockett Resigns
Karilyn Crockett
Crockett, 47, submitted her letter of resignation to Mayor Marty Walsh on Monday.
âIt has been my pleasure and honor to serve as chief of equity for the city of Boston these last several months,â the Dorchester native wrote, noting her sooner-than-expected departure as Walsh prepares for an expected U.S. Senate confirmation to become secretary of labor.
Her resignation comes as sources close to her said that she is weighing whether to enter an already crowded race.
Local political observers suggested she might have a hard time mounting a successful campaign.
âThe reality is, there are three ways you get on the field in a major race â name recognition, a field operation or money,â said long-time political consultant Michael Goldman.
