J&K Housing Board retrieves prime land worth Rs 100 cr in Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU, Dec 27: Prime land worth over Rs 100 crores at posh Gole Market area of Gandhi Nagar was retrived by the Jammu & Kashmir Housing Board officials with the assistance of strong police contingent in violence free operation during last night.
Official sources said that the anti-encroachment operation which was launched at around 11 pm last night directly under the command of Managing Director of J&K Hosuing Board Shahid Saleem, continued till 3.30 am today.
Over 100 officials including MD, Collector, Secretary, Tehsildar J&K Housing Board and concerned SDPO and SHO were involved in the operation. The team initially faced some resistance from the peole occupying the land but later they did not confront, seeing heavy police deployment. The team also removed three temporary structures (Khokhas) using JCBs.

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], December 15 (ANI): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday chaired a meeting at Civil Secretariat to steer Light Metro Rail Projects for Jammu and Srinagar.
The Jammu Light Rail System will have a 23-kilometre length with 22 stations between Bantalab and Bari Brahmana whereas Srinagar Light Rail System will have a 25-kilometre length.
Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam, Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development Dheeraj Gupta, among other officials were present in the meeting.
The representatives of MAHA-Metro gave a PowerPoint presentation regarding the works related to the project, besides highlighting the key issues on Jammu and Srinagar Metro Rail corridors, according to an official release.
