Watch the performance of "Something Sacred," a stage play that focused on the origins of praise houses in the Gullah culture and on the sea islands. Earlier this week, Praise House: A Tradition (1991) was featured on ETV Classics. The inspiration for that documentary came from the a performance by the Urban Bush Women at Spoleto Festival 1990.
The 2022–2023 season at the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts marks 20 years of presenting exceptional performances.
