It s been nearly a year since the COVID-19 pandemic forced Arizona restaurants to suspend indoor dining as part of the state s efforts to slow the virus spread. In the months since, owners have navigated a string of recommendations and regulations  which have almost uniformly curtailed their ability to operate, but have helped preserve public health.  On March 5, the state appeared to take a step toward normalcy by lifting the 50% capacity limit on indoor dining, a move that s been criticized by politicians and health experts who worry a hasty return to business as usual could lead to another surge in cases.

debartalo architects The Air Guitar Convenience Store is Back in Action Remember Air Guitar, which was supposed to be opening next to the Epicenter at Agritopia in Gilbert in 2020? The project a convenience store initiated by two couples (Craig and Kris DeMarco, the restaurateurs and co-founders of Upward Projects, and Eric and Elissa Seitz, “retail store gurus” of Bro Retail Group) broke ground this week. The 5,000-square-foot store will sit under a floating 9,000-square-foot canopy, which will probably be a sight to see when it opens next summer/fall at the northwest corner of Higley and Ray roads (specifically 1566 South Higley Road in Gilbert).
