An act of kindness from Auburn High School wrestlers past and present began with a question.
Auburn Enlarged City School District Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo said his son, high school senior Luca, 17, asked him a couple weeks ago if the wrestling program was going to continue its annual tradition of buying gifts for the holidays for an Auburn family in need.Â
Pirozzolo said he would reach out to one of the wrestling coaches about it. John Alberici and Andy Corbett, the high school s wrestling coaches, later told Pirozzolo they received phone calls from wrestling alumni who were also wondering if the program was still going on.

Why not, asks Cafe Kubal owner Matt Godard.
Godard plans to start serving wine, beer, spirits and cocktails at the Cafe Kubal in the Dey’s Centennial Plaza building at 401 S. Salina St. That is one of five current locations for Kubal, but would the only one with a liquor license, Godard said.
The downtown location makes sense: It’s near the Landmark and Red House theaters, the Marriott Syracuse Hotel, Syracuse’s first bar-barbershop combo and not far from the under-construction Salt City Market (which will also host a new cocktail bar).
