Nature bullying human beings: Forest fire & damages due to 5.4 earthquake
Gangtok, Apr 6 (UNI ) Sikkim on Monday experienced an earthquake of 5.4 intensity. There were low intensity 4.1 and 3.7 tremors at 7.7 am & 10 am depth 5 km on Tuesday day at Jalpaiguri West Bengal within a depth of 10 km. Bhutan also experienced the quake of 3.9 magnitude.
Sikkim also experienced very light aftershocks. Total damages are yet to be officially assessed. However as per public reports, a school building has been badly damaged along with several houses in Pakyong, Lingmoo Paiyung South Sikkim, in Temi Namphing South Sikkim, Upper Samdong East Sikkim. Forest fire is being put off at Tingley. At Nagi South a monastery was partly damaged by the nearby forest fire.
