AU-led Process on GERD Right Platform to Reach Amicable Solutions: Nile Riparian Countries © Provided by Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) 4444 July 07, 2021 (ENA) Nile riparian countries said the African Union (AU)-led Process on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) negotiations is the right platform to reach amicable solutions, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In its statement the ministry said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen met in his office today with ambassadors and diplomats of the Nile riparian states in Ethiopia for a briefing on the latest status of the GERD negotiations. During the meeting, the deputy premier said the GERD represents the common aspirations of all the riparian countries to equitably and reasonably utilize the water resource without significantly harming downstream countries.
