Boulder city officials on Thursday evening discussed a series of flood mitigation projects that are expected to span the next several decades and cost an estimated $350 million to build.
Boulder City Council approved the flood mitigation plan on May 18. Since that announcement, there has been mounting concern from the community about the damage this would cause to the surrounding environment, wildlife, and private properties in the area.
If we haven’t changed our circumstances, who is to say we will be so fortunate next time? We can delay flood mitigation, but we can’t delay the next flood.
