Cops arrest illegal police recruiter

(PSSLAI) who allegedly promised to facilitate applications to the Philippine National Police (PNP) in exchange for money has been arrested in an entrapment operation in Taguig City. PNP Chief Guillermo Eleazar said Evalyn Aleman was arrested in the act of receiving P30,000 from a police applicant in Upper Bicutan on Thursday evening, May 27, 2021. Her arrest was made hours after the PNP launched its faceless and nameless recruitment system. The entrapment operation stemmed from a complaint filed by a police applicant before the PNP Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG).

(Photo from Pixabay) Corporal or physical punishment, as defined by the Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC), is “any punishment in which physical force is used and intended to cause some degree of pain or discomfort, however light.” There are also non-physical forms of punishment that are cruel and degrading such as humiliation, threats, or ridicules. “What many parents and guardians do not realize is that corporal punishment can be physically and psychologically damaging and causes a wide range of short and long-term negative impacts to a child which are often irreversible,” said Save the Children Philippines Chief Executive Officer Atty. Young mom beats her 1-year-old baby to death in Taguig

Suspect Christine May Dabuit who is accused of killing her baby (Taguig Police / MANILA BULLETIN)  Taguig police identified the suspect as Christine May Dabuit, a single mom. According to the police, the incident happened at about 12:30 p.m. on April 20 in the suspect’s house in Sitio Imelda, Brgy. Upper Bicutan.  Police said Dabuit repeatedly struck the baby with a rattan stick when he started to cry. The victim suffered difficulty in breathing, prompting his mother to rush him to the Brgy. Upper Bicutan Health Center but she was advised to bring him to the hospital.  The baby was rushed to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital (TPDH) but he was declared dead on arrival at 1:37 p.m. by attending physician Dr. Leila Bondoc.
